Seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team ASAP for the balance of the 2017 season--someone who can hit the ground running to ensure a smooth transition when our wonderful current chef departs for personal reasons. We will also be looking to fill this position for the 2018 season, but at the moment our priority is to find a great candidate to guide us through the busy holiday season.
This restaurant is a busy Cape May landmark, bar and jazz piano venue, famous for traditional regional seafood, steaks, cocktails and live piano music. We hope to find a Chef who will respect our "classics" (gotta have the best stuffed lobster tail!) and develop seasonal signature items, making frequent course corrections to keep our menu fresh and relevant, utilizing abundant local produce and seafood. Our loyal multi-generational customer base ranges from life-long locals to vacationing urbanites accustomed to big city fine dining. We want to keep them all happy!
Culinary school background and an entrepreneurial bent are pluses. Leadership ability, common sense and a good work ethic are essential. Please, no current substance abuse problems or personality disorders.
The restaurant is currently open Thursday-Sunday, including Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, and every night from December 26 through January 2. We are closed for the winter from January 3, 2018 through mid-March.
